Fire Stopping Service

Fire Batt, Mastic, Collars & Wraps Manchester

The product matters as much as the workmanship. A penetration is only compliant when it is closed with a system that has been tested for that exact detail — the right substrate, services and fire rating. We install the full range of fire stopping products, choosing the correct one for each opening.

The right product for the detail

There is no single fire stopping product that suits every penetration. A loaded cable tray, a plastic soil pipe, a mixed-service riser and a linear gap at a wall head each need a different tested system — batt, coating, mastic, sealant, collar or wrap.

A common cause of failure is the wrong product being used because it was the one on the van: expanding foam where a collar is needed, or standard sealant on a plastic pipe. We select the product to match the tested detail, not the other way round.

The products we install

Coated fire batt for larger openings and mixed services
Intumescent mastic and fire-rated sealant for linear gaps and small penetrations
Intumescent pipe collars and wraps for plastic pipes
Ablative coating systems for cable penetrations
Fire-rated foam where the tested detail allows
Linear gap seals at wall heads and movement joints

How we work

1

Match product to detail

We identify the penetration, substrate and services, then select a tested system suited to them.

2

Install to specification

Products are installed to the manufacturer’s tested specification — depth, coverage and detailing all matter.

3

Consistent standard

We keep the finish and standard consistent across the whole building, not just the visible penetrations.

4

Records on completion

Photographic records are available on request to support your documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

The tested detail decides it — the substrate, the services passing through and the fire rating required. We match a tested system to each penetration rather than using one product for everything.

Only where a fire-rated foam is part of a tested detail for that penetration. Standard expanding foam is not fire stopping, and we would not use it in place of the correct system.

Yes. Send photos of the penetrations and we will advise on the likely products and provide a price.
